WhatsHive — self-hosted team inbox, queue and API for WhatsApp
A self-hosted dashboard that links ordinary WhatsApp numbers and lets a team share one inbox, send paced and scheduled messages, post and view Status, log calls and manage groups and communities, with a REST API (253 operations) and 74 signed webhook events for integrations.
WhatsHive links WhatsApp numbers the way WhatsApp Web does (QR code or an 8-character link code) and puts everything those numbers can do behind one dashboard, one API and one webhook stream. It runs on a single server with MongoDB and Redis, and is live at whatshive.harshitsaini.in.
What it covers:
- Messaging: text, photos, video, audio, voice notes (converted to OGG/Opus with ffmpeg), documents up to 2 GB, stickers, locations, polls, contact cards, mentions, quoted replies, editing and deleting sent messages, templates with variables, bulk sends and broadcasts. - Queue and ban protection: every message goes through BullMQ with per-channel pacing, separate lanes for conversations and outreach, warm-up for new numbers, a health score, daily caps and consent checks. - Team inbox: assignment, open/pending/resolved/snoozed, labels, notes, quick replies, pin/archive/mute synced with the phone, business messages with working reply buttons and lists, view-once and deleted messages kept with who deleted them, typing and online indicators. - Status: view contacts' statuses without sending a seen receipt, download them, keep them past 24 hours, post every status type to a chosen audience, schedule and repeat statuses. - Calls: incoming and outgoing call log, auto-reject with a reply message, call links, missed-call alerts. - Groups and communities: edit details, photo, settings, members and invite links, approve join requests, with a full change history. - Contacts and profile: the phone's synced address book, business names, profile picture history, own profile, privacy settings and blocklist. - Media storage: incoming media copied to S3-compatible storage (MinIO in production) with per-type limits and retention. - Insights: dashboard, reports for messages, calls, status, groups and media with CSV export, analytics. - Workspaces and access: multiple workspaces, 122 granular permissions with role limits (inbox visibility, export, masked numbers, working hours), 2FA, sessions, audit log, and a platform owner panel with per-workspace feature switches and limits. - Developers: REST API with channel and workspace keys and 38 scopes, an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, 74 webhook events signed with HMAC, chunked uploads.
